Education status is an important variable to judge the rural women's social status. It refers to the quantity and the quality of education individual receiving. Originally, this study is to show solicitude to the rural women's right to development and social integration. From the angle of view of gender, basing on the social exclusion theory, this paper tries to discuss the attainment of education status of the rural women in order to offer study on social exclusion and gender a piece of new basal viewpoint by studying the attainment and exclusion of rural women's education status in Zhejiang.Taking rural women's education status as object, this paper bases on the fixed Zhejiang's number relating to education of the second time of countrywide survey of women's social status. Firstly, it display the social and learning background for the sake of ascertaining social soil upon which this study base, as well as to make the point of breakthrough and pivot clear by use the already-existing study for reference. Secondly, the paper points out the significance of the study both for practice and theory. Part three, after systematically combing the social exclusion theory, according to the subject, this paper brings forward four basal hypotheses, that is, rural women is suffering from dual exclusion which is related to gender and rural—urban; it belongs to structural exclusion , of which some is conspicuous but some is latent; this sort of exclusion is not from one idiographic field but a holistic reflection and result from field of political,economic,social and cultural; there is objective causation ,maybe subjective as well for this sort of exclusion. Part four describes and summarizes the condition and characteristics of the Zhejiang rural women's education status in the cause of the transformation of the social construction of the country since the nineties. The results indicate that there is still a big difference between education status of Zhejiang rural women and that of rural man and urban women. Then it analyzes the five main factors affecting the attainment of the rural women's education status, including the forward of age, the city- countryside binary structure, the tactics of the family, culture traditional conception and individual subjective factor. Finally, basing on the condition and characteristics of the education status of the rural women, this paper discusses the function of education which includes the function of status-classifying, optimizing the structure of social estate and exclude the inferior group and from which it reveals that the lowest status of the rural women is a reflection of the unequal collocation of the education resource between rural—urban and male—female. Rural women suffer from dual exclusion, i.e. gender exclusion and rural—urban exclusion, and this sort of exclusion is structural, correlative and inheritable, it's a process. This paper argues that essential the weakening and deprivation of education resource from rural women is impairment and deprivation of rural women's right to survive and develop which goes against social integration and harmoniously development.
