Since 1990s in China, the higher education has experienced the evolvement from serving groups of the elites to catering for the mass population. The infrastructure of various types of universities has since made significant adjustment and modification in order to accommodate to the changes in the overall environment. With the development and adjustment of these newly-built campuses, there emerge numbers of "university Towns (UTs)", as well as problems relating to the daily operations and management.In addition to the modernization of a new social system, the emergence of UTs in China explains the changes in opportunities and policies for higher education.The current thesis, based on the analysis of the spring up, management model together with the present problems, through the methodology of questionnaire and interview, explores the development and present situation the of UTs. It intends to address the following issues: 1) to provide analysis on various problems which UCs are encountering. 2) to suggest options, solutions and ideology which can be adapted. 3) to formulate a more scientific, diversified and feasible report. |
