Robert M Gagne, the US educator, indicates that there are five elements that the teenagers today need to have including language information, intellectual talents, cognitive strategies, physical skills and attitudes. They are not only the conditions of learning, but the products as well. Similarly, non-intellectual factors are also formed by five elements such as motive, interests, emotion, wills and characters. The intellectual and non-intellectual factors simultaneously exist in the learning conditions, and they are developed with each other.In the current educational environment, however, it is common that the intellectual factors are emphasized while the non-intellectual factors are neglected. This directly worsens the atmosphere of Chinese courses, making the teaching inefficiency. This dissertation, based on the theories of educational psychology, attempts to analyze the relationship between non-intellectual factors and Chinese learning, and in accordance with the actual demands of teaching, explores the effective ways in which students' non-intellectual factors are fully mobilized so that their Chinese learning can be promoted. It is expected that the significance of the non-intellectual factors in teaching Chinese is widely recognized.This dissertation includes four parts. In Part 1, the relationship between the non-intellectual factors and teaching language is discussed. In Part 2, the cause of the current situation that non-intellectual factors are neglected in teaching Chinese is systematically analyzed. Based on these two parts, in Part 3, through understanding the variables in the learning process, the strategic thought of cultivating students' non-intellectual factors in teaching Chinese is put forward. Finally, the teacher's position and function in such teaching is basically researched in Part 4.The non-intellectual factors are regarded as the key point, and the Chinese-teaching as the background of the discussion in this dissertation. The aims are to give the non-intellectual factors its original position in the information age so that they will not be neglected by common people any longer, and to find the possibilities that interacting with the students through the process of teaching and learning.
