Cyber environment has promoted the development of Compositional Teaching. Recent years have seen ensuing occurrences of changes in Composition Teaching in the cyber-environment to such an extent that it may be said that a new paradigm is forming. By comparing the conventional teaching mode with the new teaching paradigm in the cyber-environment, it can be seen that the cyber-environment has provided a boundless vast space for the development of Composition Teaching. It is realized that the Composition Teaching should, in the cyber environment, open up the students' space in learning composition, by using the cyber teaching platform and the utilization of new teaching concept and method. It is also recognized that the Composition Teaching should enable students to develop multiple abilities, such as to depict the world, to express oneself, to understand others and to communicate with each another, thus adding colours of life to the composition lessons. The present paper, starting from the discussions on teaching paradigm, probes into the issues in the reforms of the Composition Teaching for students of secondary schools. The paper has also summarized the aspects of conventional Composition Teaching, such as the overview, features, categories and functions of the conventional Composition Teaching mode, the experiences and constraints of conventional Composition Teaching. The paper includes the discussions on a series issues such as how to understand, create and develop the paradigm of Composition Teaching in cyber-environment. On the basis of the conclusions from the discussions, a new paradigm of composition teaching in cyber environment for "self-organized learning" is established. It is predicted that the new paradigm inherently has the win-win mechanism suitable for teachers to mature professionally and for students to develop multiple abilities.
