A Study On The Present Situation Of Social Practice Of College Students And On Their Attitudes Influential Factors

Many universities and colleges highlight social practice as an integral component to their mission. Additionally, a growing pedagogical focus highlights the importance of social practice as an integral component of student development. Not only can it bring certain benefits to the society, but also it can foster their development in such aspects as knowledge, ability and the sense of responsibility.Based on the survey of 600 undergraduates in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, this thesis firstly describes the frequencies, motivation and appraisement of the students'participation in social practice. Secondly, it depicts the overall cognition and appraisement of social practice from all the students. Lastly, on the ground of attitude influential factors theory in Social Psychology and socialization theory in Sociology, it tries to explore the factors that have an effect on the attitudes towards social practice by using statistical analyzing tool.It is discovered that, many undergraduates are interested in social practice and believe many types of them should be set in their courses, but in fact, their participation is not so active. On the whole, their cognition and appraisement towards social practice are positive. It is also found that among the influential factors, mass media counts and plays a great role; grade plays a less important role.At the end of the thesis, the method for improving undergraduates'participation of social practice is put forward.
