Innovation is an important feature of national development, so all countries in the world attach great importance to cultivating creative thinking. Education plays a vital part in the development of cultivating national spirit of innovation and creative talents Basic education curriculum reform concept also stresses the importance of creative thinking. The use of Geography in secondary schools teaching has a unique advantage to achieve it. In the process of creative thinking, creative thinking and divergent thinking are inseparable and complementary. In the past, too much emphasis was put on centralized thinking of training, but divergent thinking of training was neglected to our students, resulting in the lack the vibrant culture of creativity. In addition to this focus on training divergent thinking design, some other forms of training design thinking are also included.This subject has certain theoretical value and strong practical significance. The full text is divided into four parts: the first is the background issues. In this part, it first introduces the development of creative thinking at home and abroad. Secondly, it illustrates the advantages that geography teaching has in a creative thinking training. Finally, it is pointed out that the basic knowledge and basic skills learning can not be ignored at the same time, and it is necessary to handle the relationship correctly between the basic geographical knowledge, skills and the creative ability .The second part illustrates the meaning and characteristics of creative thinking. We need to master the principles of good creative training while trying to perform creative training.The third part is the main content, that is, the design of creative thinking training methods in geography teaching, which focuses on the training divergent thinking design. Besides, it also includes some other forms of training design thinking. For example, both types of things, including geographic, seasonal, expanding epitaxy problems, such as Lenovo divergent transition training, including space thinking, reverse thinking, superficial thinking, and thinking analogy training. Each category is described in the design, with a specific design case followed. Some of the design integrity of the case does not give the answer so that readers or teachers have more space to play.The fourth part is a conclusion, giving the author's reflection after the completion of practice.The paper tries to make a breakthrough in the following three aspects: firstly, there is a complete overview on the creative thinking and it put the theoretical level to a more in-depth study. Secondly, great efforts are made to combine creative thinking training and geography teaching in a proper way. Third it attempts to enhance creative thinking training practice as well as better maneuverability.In Geography Teaching creative thinking training or training methods are varied, full of boundless joy. There are thousands of specific cases. Hopefully, this will provide some useful reference , and teachers will do further research on the subject.
