At present, new health curriculum reform is being carried out in China. Since the September of 2001, curriculum reform experiment has been made in thirty-eight experimental areas all over the country. From 2002 on, the experiment has also been done in provincial areas. After five years'curriculum reform, what's the result of the reform? In order to learn about curriculum reform, survey the current situation that is carried out in Hohhot and find out the problems and solutions, this article makes an investigation and statistical analysis on current situation of Physical Education and Health Curriculum reform in Hohhot and sets forth the factors restricting the reform of Physical Education and Health Curriculum in Hohhot and provides solutions to the problems accordingly regarding 114 physical education teachers, 8 experts and 400 students from No. 14 Middle School, No. 16 Middle School, No. 6 Middle School, No. 3 Middle School, No. 18 Middle School as research subjects.The research results of the article are:Through three years'curriculum reform, certain progress and experience has been made in Hohhot.①Students-center in teaching is paid more attention to ,teaching method and idea have been changed.②To emphasize on the development and use of curriculum resources.③To gain the recognition from the students. But there are also some problems,①Many physical education teachers are somewhat unqualified to implement the new criterion in terms of educational idea, knowledge structure, and ability.②Some schools ignore physical education and can't provide enough expenses. ③The degree of training is not enough.Now there are six factors which restrict the development of physical education and health curriculum reform:①There is some deviation in educational thoughts to this reform.②The enthusiasm of participating in the reform is not very high..③The knowledge structure of teachers in Hohhot is not reasonable.④The attention and sustainment of leaders are not enough.⑤The lack of sports field and equipment.⑥Teaching managerial system is not improved.Therefore, we should strengthen training teachers; change teaching idea; advance teachers'abilities; establish scientific and sound evaluation system; mobilize the enthusiasm of teachers'participating in curriculum reform; strengthen the investment of sports field and equipment; reform physical education teaching managerial system; improve the ability and knowledge of teachers'developing curriculum resources.
