Most secondary vocational school students have rather serious emotional obstacles in learning English. However, emotional factors relate closely to learning foreign languages. Positive emotional factors can facilitate learning and using foreign languages while negative ones may obstruct it. Therefore, teachers should pay more attention to the emotional factors in English teaching class and apply the strategies that utilize the emotional factors for teaching English, so as to help students overcome the emotional obstacles and facilitate English teaching and learning. Then, the thesis summarizes the theories about the emotional factors and relevant strategies regarding the general psychology of teaching and the theories about the emotional factors and relevant strategies regarding teaching English as foreign language or the second language. Next, the thesis analyzes, in four aspects, the causes to students'emotional obstacles in English learning: students'personal causes, the features of English for secondary vocational schools, the methods of accessing students'learning English and the environments for vocational school students to learn English. The thesis, which is mainly based on the theory"To facilitate teaching with the help of the emotional aspect"and its relevant strategies, tries systematically to study the emotional factors and relevant strategies in English teaching class in secondary vocational schools. The thesis is aimed that in English teaching, positive emotional factors can be greatly aroused and emotional factors can play positive roles, so students can be helped to overcome emotional obstacles, and English teaching and learning can be facilitated, so that students'personal qualities can get improvements. The research of the thesis proves to be workable and effective when it is put into teaching practice.
