Comparison Research On The Policy Of Student Aid Between China And America

The policy of student aid has been concerned and recognized all over the world. It does not only facilitate the realization of social fairness and justice, but also has an important effect on national stability and development.As a representative model of mixed student aid, the policy of student aid of America not only plays an important role in the development of its higher education, but also has important meaning to the revolution and reformation of student aid all over the world. Comparing with the expanding number of poor students and their funding needs, there are many problems in the policy of student aid of China.Therefore, with the number of poor students increasing continuously, it is important to exert the actual effect of student aid to make sure that every poor student can get proper subsidy.Based on introducing macroscopic setting and microcosmic implementation, the dissertation is to analyze the student aid in China and America from the angle of comparison, with the hope to give some advice to improve the student aid of China. Except for the preface, this dissertation has five chapters, details as follows:Chapter 1, summary of the policy of student aid. Based on classifying the policy of student aid, this chapter expounds the theory of student aid in details.Chapter 2, research on the policy of student aid of America and its case. Based on introducing the macroscopic setting and microcosmic implementation of student aid in America, this chapter uses Pennsylvanian University as a case to analyze the characters of the policy of student aid of America.Chapter 3, research on the policy of student aid of China and its case. In order to compare with the policy of student aid of America, this chapter is similar to Chapter 2. Based on introducing the macroscopic setting and microcosmic implementation, it summarizes the characters of the policy of student aid of China from the case study of a high school in Shanghai.Chapter 4, comparison and analysis of the policy of student aid between America and China. Based on the comparison of the difference and sameness of student aid between America and China, this chapter details five problems of the policy of student aid of China.Chapter 5, implication and improvement. Given the problems of student aid in China and the experiences of America, the author tries to give some advice: designing Financial Aid Package which contains grant, loan and work-study; establishing the uniform standard and procedure of identifying poor students; expanding the channels to increase the gross funds; managing unifily and establishing the mechanism of information sharing; carrying out honesty education and implementing the concept of aid and education.
