The teacher efficacy and job satisfaction are two important elements in explaining teacher'work motive and also main guidelines in judging the efficacy of school. Primary and middle school teachers are endowed with great task of reforming fundamental educational reform and accelerating quality education, so their teaching activities should be put premium on. This study makes an investigation of 393 primary and middle school teachers, through diagrams and questionnaires, to explore their efficacy and job satisfaction and the interrelationship between these two. The findings are as follows:1. The overall teacher efficacy of primary and middle school teachers is comparatively high, and personal teacher efficacy is significantly higher than general teacher efficacy. The teachers'personal efficacy tends to increase with their teaching years, while in the latter, there exist great regional difference, namely, personal efficacy of rural teachers is higher than that of urban teachers, and also exists difference of school type, namely, that of senior middle school teachers is higher than that of junior middle school teachers.2. The overall job satisfactory of primary and middle school teachers is very general. The teachers are content with the relations with leaders, colleagues, and teaching work itself, while they are not satisfied with their income and promotion system. There exist great gender difference, namely, the job satisfaction of women teachers is higher than that of men teachers, and regional difference, namely, that of urban teachers is higher than that of rural teachers. In some aspects of job satisfaction, there exist differences of diploma, school type and teaching years.3. The teacher efficacy of primary and middle school teachers are closely relevant to their job satisfaction. Also, the two dimensions of teacher efficacy can predict various aspects of job satisfaction.
