In the knowledge economy time, universities are bearing the weight of innovation of a country with science and technology. Nowadays, the innovation must be realized in the way of cooperation, while social capital can promote the cooperation of group members. In the recent 20 years, the study on social capital has developed rapidly. Scholars in the world have studied a lot, so that the research on social capital is in the boom period.This thesis attempts to make a tentative study from the point of view of the New Economic Sociology, and expounds that there must be plenty of social capital in universities if these universities want to take on the innovation with science and technology. What's more, the Game Theory is used for reference.First, it looks back the complex research on social capital inside and outside our nation, studies the research history, definitions, characters, and stratified structure orderly, integrates the research achievements, emphasizes the results abroad. So, the note social capital was analyzed deeply. Also, it analyzes the feasibility.If you want to design a questionnaire, you must manage to make the note social capital easy to operate, bring forward the hypotheses. After the questionnaire was worked out, the thesis analyzes the data with the factor analyze method to find the four factors which are working on the social capital in universities. The four factors are harmonious relationship, open atmosphere, healthy competition, and scientific institution. This is the most important research of this thesis. In addition, it analyzes the correlation between the social capital and the satisfactory of members, and finds that the satisfaction of collectivity life and the satisfaction of group performance both can influence the social capital.On this ground, it summarizes the results foregoing, especially discusses how to upgrade the level of social capital in an organization, and raises some advice for upgrading the social capital.The main innovations of this thesis are to widen the research range of educational management, and to explore the solutions to the educational organization management of the scientific research groups of universities.
