Causes And Countermeasures Of Students With English Learning Disability In Senior High School

As we all know, English is playing a more and more important role in today's society, and is associated with almost every field of human endeavour. However, the situation of English study in senior high school is not satisfactory. Many students are tired of study, some are even afraid of study. They lose confidence in English and give up studying it. These students are called the students with English learning disability (ELD). To implement the educational policy of our Party and improve students'quality of learning, the most important thing is to ensure that every student makes progress and his or her learning is improved. If we cannot solve the problem of how to transform ELD students, the aim of quality education– let every student improve in every side– will never be reached.The thesis, based on the related research both at home and abroad and assisted with questionnaires that investigate the ELD students and English high-achievers, analyzes the causes of English learning disability, and discusses some measures to remove the negative affect of English learning disability. The writer draws a conclusion that since promoting self-education is the key to transforming ELD students, we should give students positive hope and faith.
