There are Eight million rural teachers who teach sixty-six million rural students in China. They undertake the task to popularize nine years' compulsory education and the divine mission to change heavy overpopulation into better resources of manpower in our country. Therefore, it is the key to pay attention to survival and development of rural teachers in order to insure development of rural education. However, rural teachers will face the new challenge along with in-depth development of new curriculum reform. Their knowledge' improvements have very important functions towards implement of new curriculum.The questionnaire, interview and literature research ways are mainly used, the thesis regards rural teachers as research objects, relational questions on teachers' teaching knowledge development which reflect today conditions of rural teachers' teaching knowledge have been researched in order to find some problems that teachers meet when they develop their teaching knowledge, existent questions' reasons are analyzed, then a series of effective measures and suggestions are proposed for existent questions: government should carry out declining policies toward rural teachers, should implement quality control to continuing education, should enhance actual effect for continuing education of rural teachers and should faithfully alleviate work burdens of them; schools should enrich knowledge sources of teachers; teachers should increase self-growing consciousness and set lifelong learning ideas.
