Taking social practice is an approach to improve the practical ability of college students, an efficient method to enhance and ameliorate the ideological and political education for them, which plays an important role in enhancing their sense of social responsibility and their ideological and ethical standards.This thesis consists of four parts: the first part illustrates the main features and significances of social practice by college students, focusing on the connotation of the social practice and its significance in promoting the mental growth of the college students, in their ideological and ethical standards especially; the second part analyses the main problems in the implementation of social practice for Chinese college students, and goes on to dissertate some kinds of relationships that require harmonization from different aspects of the government, the college, the students and the society respectively, employing the main points of Marxism practical principle in an systematic analysis on the developing history of the social practice for Chinese college students.; the third part introduces the social activities of foreign college students and goes on to illustrate the suggestive significance for our work; the forth part probes into the construction of long-term mechanism in developing social practice for Chinese college students. It starts with the discussion on some relationships that require harmonization and goes on to promote the countermeasures in constructing a long-term mechanism in developing social practice for Chinese college students with a comparative study on the social practices between Chinese and foreign college students. The analysis on the problems in the implementation of social practice for Chinese college students and the comparative study on the social practices between Chinese and foreign college students are connotative to this thesis.
