The article describes the advantages of the book Chinese Reading of high school. Chinese Reading is one part of the teaching materials which were based on the Syllabus of 2000. Because of the rich and diverse contents, Chinese Reading was concerned with by all community. But there is no Teachers'Book for the Chinese Reading, and few experts on textbooks have studied this book. So teachers in high school have to try to use this book in practice. To understand the advantages of Chinese Reading is the prerequisites which to be made full use of. So the first and most important idea of this article is to analyze the advantages of the Chinese Reading.Although Chinese Reading is written on the same standard of textbook, it is closed to expect on Chinese teaching materials for the times, literature and diversity. How to use Chinese Reading to guide students'reading is a very important link in Chinese curriculum.The article is formed with three parts. The first part is analysis on the advantages of Chinese Reading. The second part describes theories from psychology and reading and attempts from teachers. The third part gives some advice to teachers on how to use Chinese Reading.
