A Study On Vocational School Teachers' Occupational Burnout And Mental Health

Since the1970s, the study of burnout has been very popular in the world. Burnout is a negative response to stressors on the job, and is defined by three compositions: emotional exhaustion, depersonality, reduced personal accomplishment. Because of transform crisis on school's exist and development,the education stressors on student's manage,the society stressors on distinction's descend of occupational and technical education,the limitation of individual personality, more and more vocational school teachers produce burnout. In this study, 134 vocational school teachers have been tested by Maslach questionnaires about occupational burnout and SCL-90 to investigate the state of Burnout and mental health among vocational school teachers, as well as the relationships between burnout and mental health. The results showed that: the correlation in statistics is exist between burnout and mental health ; the vocational school teachers'burnout is not serious on the whole, and it is mostly incarnated in primary phase, namely higher scores on the emotional exhaustion composition , and lower depersonality ,higher personal accomplishment; Burnout is mostly incarnated in those teachers: the young specialty teacher under 15 years job experience,the teacher is assume student's mostly administer,the basic courses teacher ; Mental health of the vocational school teachers is significantly better than common. The teachers who gained higher scores are still the young specialty teacher under 15 years job experience,the teacher is assume student's mostly administer,the basic courses teacher. The symptoms of higher score are compulsion,depression,interpersonal relation,paranoid and body factor. The teachers gained high scores should to be attended in the job.
