This paper is an exploratory research focusing on the fittest talent-trained mode ofindependent college in the western areas.The independent college of our country originated from some second-level collegeswith civilian-run mechanism in the public university, enlarged its scale in 1999 when thecolleges and universities increasing enrollment, and was named after the 8th document ofministry of education in 2003. Although the independent college takes place in arelatively short period in our country, the educationist pay close attention to its talenttrained mode and already have produced some theoretical research findings. But theseresearch findings mostly focus on the developed region that higher education resourceconcentrating relatively. In economic and social development, culture and some studentsituation, the western areas of our country is different from the developed regions. It isurgent and important to found the fittest talent trained mode of independent college inthe western areas. In such condition, it appears more meaningful to do this research.This paper tries to do a comprehensive research on the talent-trained mode ofindependent college in the western areas. On the base of detailed analyzing, this paperholds a structure, including following aspects. First, analyze the concept and correlationtheory of the talent-trained mode providing theoretical basis for the following research.Second, introduce the emerge and development of independent college, then comparethe talent trained mode between the independent college and the public university.Third, according to different approaches to cooperation, the independent colleges of ourcountry are divided into 5 patterns of running school. Then choose and analyze representative independent college of each pattern from the whole country and thewestern areas separately. Last, according to the above analysis and the western area'slocal conditions, the author gives some suggestions on the talent-trained mode ofindependent college in the western areas. These suggestions conclude 7 aspects: theobjective of training, the structure of profession, the course system, the administrationof teaching, the method of teaching, student management and teachers training.
