Through investigation analyzing with regional analyzing,external description with documents and vertical analyzing with transverse analyzing ,this writing uses ration analysis and other sone studying methods to make research on the development of school sports in poverty-striken minorities inhabitation in northwest of china .the content of the researchare;the exterior environment that the school sports in poverty-striken minorities inhabitation is tacing ;different social communities' understandings to school sports;teaching conditions of school sports;the building of P ? E teachers ;the construction of basic facilities for sports and the situation of fund ;and something on the activities of school sports .the research aims at knowing the situation of development and existing problems of school sports in poverty-striken minorities inhabitation,which will help to provide school sports in poverty-striken minorities inhabitation with necessary references and basis .the research shows;with the sloping of many national policies for western region and the help from social organizations and communities ,there is a great change and derelopment in school sports in poverty-striken minorities inhabitation .about 63.5%of schools could offer P·E class regularly,but the standardization and the level of making it scientific are waiting to be reinforced.the amount of teacher is inadequate,the proportion between teachers and students is 1:235.the vegional distribution of teachers isn't veasonable enough,which leads to a phenomenon that the poorer the place is,the less teachers there are and the teachers there relatively received less education .it's also poor in playground ,sports facilities and basic equipment.with the distribution of schools,the feature of sports facilities takes on that large area,more sports,small amount,old and shabby,ingdquate,serious lack of fund is the common problem faced by school sports in poverty-striken minorities inhabitation.students are interested in outside class sports.the proportion between male and female students is 87% and 81%;there is a big limitation on playground for students,so mostly the free area is used for playground .the sports games and programs for primary students are mainly some love to see and hear national traditional sports.while for middle school students,they are maily modern sports.the duration and intensity are seriously inadequate.seen from the whole situation of development of school sports in poverty-striken minorities inhabitation,it develops slowly because of multiple factors' effects.it appears that they have a weak foundation and heavy burden.besides,local lagging development of economic is the deep layer factor restricting the development of school sports.it is suggested that we should perfect the related rules and laws and invest more fund to school sports,which will change the backward situation of school sports in poverty-striken minorities inhabitation'physique and entire people's quality.
