Discouse And Memory: The Procession Of Constructing Heranese's Image

Nowadays, people's concern and debate on "Henanese" has become a special kind of social and cultural phenomenon. But sociology is less involved in this issue.From the sociological research perspective, referring to the social memory theory, Our purpose, by analyzing the interviews with different people, combined with a lot of second-hand materials, is to explore and analyze the following questions:1)To other people, What's on earth the Henanese image in reality ? 2) Why people in society pay so much attention to Henanese? And how dose this process take place?3)If the three factors--memory, words and power-- are involved in this progress? And how does they work?The significance of this study lies in the comprehension to the comments on the Henanese which is "still at the table debate", applying the sociological perspective and methods. This paper concludes that the formation of the Henanese image is a historical process with development and changes, which is also a controversial issue. There has been some description about Henanese image, but nowadays the Henanese image is shaped by the traditional words literature, inscribe practice, informal oral history, the mass media, rituals and other forms.so this image is the result of social construction and special memory, and also, of the combination between history and reality of Henan and it's people Henan. The contemporary image of Henanese is shaped in this way.
