After the official starting of the basic education curriculum reform, the updating of teaching concepts and the reform of learning mode has been extensively and highly emphasized, and also the education reforms have been carried out widely in experimental zones. It is the fundamental task of our country's educational reform to comprehensively promote quality education. How to adapt to the development needs of the new curriculum reform and establish an education evaluation system that meets the requirements of the quality education and also can promote the development of students, the enhancement of teachers as well as the improvement of the school education quality has become an important task for the reform in the process of implementing the new curriculum. During the implementation of the new curriculum, the education evaluation reform has become a highlighted focus.This essay bases on the evaluation of the geographical teaching and research background, its theoretical and practical significance, and the present situation of both domestic and foreign research, does the literature research, proposes the evaluation techniques of senior secondary geography teaching in the new curriculum, and also it offers a reference in the perspective of practical research.Firstly, under the core concept of "based on the process for development", the essay proposes that the geographical teaching evaluation is based on multiple intelligence teaching theory, architecture theory, basic postmodern architecture theory, and so on. It advocates the implementation of developmental evaluation and the pluralism of evaluation criteria and evaluation entity, paying close attention on the comprehensive and lifelong development of the students as well as the entire process how the students come to the conclusion.Secondly, on the basis of the traditional geographical research and teaching evaluation and the existing problems resulting from it, the essay proposes that the secondary geography teaching evaluation should combine the formation evaluation with the final evaluation, the qualitative evaluation with the quantitative evaluation, and the self-evaluation with others' evaluation; the geographical teaching evaluation criteria should be developed according to the National Geographic curriculum standards and teaching goals, evaluation targets and conditions as well as the purpose of geographical teaching evaluation; the secondary geography teaching evaluation proposed from the technical point should set up the evaluation system that adapts to the basic concepts of the new curriculum in the view of three dimensions respectively called "knowledge and skills", "process and methodology", and "emotional attitude and values". And it also proposes that the geographic teaching evaluation methods should be established through collecting the geographical teaching and evaluation methods, the geographical teaching evaluation information processing methods, the geographical teaching evaluation and re-evaluation methods, and other evaluation techniques.Finally, being integrated with the new textbooks and taking the examples respectively from the chapters of Regional Geography and Natural Geography in them, the essay discusses how to evaluate in the actual geography teaching from the perspective of practical research, offering guidance for the busy senior high school geography teachers on geography evaluation.
