The Hakka as one of the branches of the Han ethnic, as far as cultureconcerned, there is no big difference between the Han and the Hakkas, But there issomething special about its culture. Since the 19th century, the people of Hakka havealways been the highlights, the one of the most important reasons was that the people ofHakkas pay great attention to their education and the popularization and development ineducation. To great extent, the education of the Hakkas can reflect the soul of theHakkas' culture. It includes the spirit of opening up and enterprising, hardworking andthrifty, patriotism and solidarity. The Hakkas attach importance to their offspring'seducation and encourage them to be a talent and so on. The education of the Hakkasincludes the knowledge, the personality, the sense of social justice, the sense ofresponsibility, the ability of living and the spirit of striving. The education of the Hakkasbelieves that example is better than precept, and it is a tradition from one generation togeneration. The research on the Hakkas education in Gannan area is an importantsubject, because it concern the problem that how to inherit and enhance the spirit ofHakkas.The Gannan area is one of the base camps of the Hakkas, its education was moreadvanced than other Hakkas' area. Most material concerned about this paper wascollected from the Gannan area. Though the research on the Hakkas' education in theGannan area, in order to inherit and develop the spirit of the Hakkas, and hand itgeneration by generation.In the introduction of this paper, simply explaining the topic, the Hakkas' educationin Gannan area, and showing its research purpose, research meaning, the new ideas andthe methods of research. And defining some concepts that appear in the paper, forexample the Hakkas, the patriarchal clan and the genealogy.The paper consists three parts.The first part mainly analyzes the local history and the material of the genealogy,showing that the main content of the Hakkas' education includes four parts:hardworking and thrifty, respecting and thinking highly of education, patriotism andsolidarity, being pragmatic and so on. The second part introduces the types of the Hakkas' education, for example theschool education, the patriarchal clan education and the family education. And mainlyanalyzes the importance and the status of Hakkas' women in Hakkas' family education.The third part, analyzing the characteristic of the Hakkas' education, andexpounding the reason of forming the characteristic of the Hakkas' education, forinstance, the natural geographic factor, the patriarchal clan factor, historical factor andthe Hakkas' mother culture factor. During analyzing the factor of the Hakkas' motherculture, this paper mainly discusses how the Hakkas' mother culture influences thedevelopment of the education in whole Gannan area.In the ending part, the paper mentions some imperfections in the Hakkas'education, for example the educational content was too simple and the system ofstudying was not regular. Though Emphasizing the importance of the Hakkas' women inthe family education, still ignoring the women and girl's education at the same time. Atlast, advocating to inherit the good part in the Hakkas' education and to give up theundeveloped one.
