Deng Xiaoping is the chief architect of socialist reform, opening up and modernization drive, a proletarian revolutionary, statesman, strategist and educator. Deng Xiaoping's educational thought is an important component of Deng Xiaoping Theory. It is new blood to the theory of Marxist education and Mao Zedong's educational Thought. It is a scientific summary of educational reform and development experience since the Open policy started 20 years ago. It is the solid theoretical foundation and powerful ideological weapon for educational reform and development of modern China, In 1983, Deng Xiaoping put forward "Education should be oriented to the needs of modernization, the world and the future." Thereafter, China's strategic guidelines for educational reform and development have been established. "The Three Orientations" is the soul of Deng Xiaoping's thinking on education. Deng Xiaoping's theory of education is the most crucial and highly summarized strategic guiding ideology. The "three orientations" (i.e., making education geared to the needs of modernization, of the world and of the future) has three dimensions. In view of the whole world, during the 1980s, "New technology revolution" and continually update changes in the "information era" drove countries around the world to set off a tide of educational reform. From a domestic perspective, in order to achieve the goal of "quadruple the GDP" by the end of the 20th century, to achieve the four modernizations, education and scientific research work is the keynote. Education needs reform. From Deng Xiaoping's experience, he has adhered to emancipating the mind, seeking truth from facts, and fully realized that "education is the most fundamental cause of a nation."Though the "three orientations" uses brief language, but the content is extensive. "Modernization-Orientated " requires that our education must adapt to and service the needs of China's sustainable, healthy and rapid development of socialist economy. "world-Orientated" requires that our education must adapt to and service the needs of China's social and economic open policy. "Future-Orientated" requires that our education must adapt to and service the needs of future development of China. The "Three Orientations" is a dialectical unity of the whole, is a three-dimensional, multi-level model of educational development. "Modernization-Orientated" is the core and foundation of the "Three orientations", is the basic starting point and destination, is the fundamental purpose of educational reform and development. "World-orientated" is the expansion of "modernization-Orientated" in space. "Future-Orientated" is the extension of "modernization-orientated" in time. Only world-orientation and future-orientation can we achieve modernization-orientation.The educational theory in "Three Orientations" has the important strategic priority, which summarized the new situation and new tasks facing our education. The quality of higher demand for our work is lifted. It offers the correct education guidelines. for China. It provides an important guiding ideology of the educational system for China to build socialism with Chinese characteristics. It reflects temporal spirit, the open nature and transcendence. It not only isthe continuation and development of educational theory of Marx, Lenin, Mao Zedong, but also opens up more space in theory and practice for China's contemporary education reform and development. From a long-term and strategic perspective of the overall situation of China's reform and development, it has specified in the right direction. The "Three orientations" has comprehensively updated China's traditional education theory and concepts, opened up a new realm of educational theory with Chinese characteristics. The "Three Orientations" is the guideline of China's education reform and development. We should comprehensively promote China's education reform and development. We should reaffirm the function of formal education, non-formal education and informal learning. The government must strengthen the responsibilities of making overall plans for public education, promoting fair education, strengthen the supervision on the efficiency of investment in non-formal education and the quality of education, building of a balanced education system, seriously handling relationship between vocational education and general education, the number and quality, the reform and development. Thus, education can better meet the demands of building a socialist harmonious society. To adhere to the comprehensive implementation of quality education, focus on the completion of three major tasks "promoting, developing and enhancing", take effective measures to in the system, investment and environment, strive for fast education development with greater energy and more investment.Education plays the fundamental, vanguard role and having an overall bearing on the building of a socialist harmonious society and achieving scientific development in socio-economic cause. With the "three orientations" as the guideline, to achieve the harmonious development of education, which is the important foundation for a harmonious society. On the other hand, a harmonious society in a comprehensive way provides a powerful support for the harmonious development of education. In the great process of building, a well-off society, we must not only train a large number of top-level creative professionals, tens of thousands of highly qualified specialists, but also cultivate hundreds of millions of high-quality workers and train a large contingent of highly skilled talents. Thus, the demands of building a socialist harmonious society can be well fulfilled, the formation of a comprehensive, coordinate, sustainable education development in harmony can be achieved.
