The Study Of Ideological And Political Course's Function On The Undergraduate's Political Socialization

Political socialization, which undergraduates necessarily experience during their growth course, is an important part of socialization. Ideological and political education course is one of the main approaches to the undergraduate's political socialization. Researches on the function of ideological and political education course on the undergraduate's political socialization are beneficial not only to further strengthen the discipline construction of the ideological and political education course, which may provide theoretical guidance for the advancement of undergraduate's political socialization, but also to the stability of society and country on the whole, as well as the advance and optimize of undergraduate's political qualities.Taking H University as an example, this paper explores the approach and embodiment of function of ideological and political course on the undergraduate's political socialization. The ideological and political education plays an important role in the undergraduate's political socialization through classroom teaching, practice teaching (in and outside of the class), the effect of teachers of the course (the professional quality and personality charm of teachers), as well as the network education, which embodies in details that the ideological and political theory can transfer political message to the undergraduate, and form the political cognition, which may help them not only establish political attitude and stabilize their political belief, but also culture their political participation consciousness and improve their political ability. Besides, the paper also finds that there still exit some deficiencies in the function of ideological and political course on the undergraduate's political socialization. They are as follows, some undergraduate's political attitude is also blurry, their political belief has not been established and their value orientation deviated a little from proper direction. The reason for those problems is diverse. From the perspective of ideological and political course, there are some deficiencies in the teaching content and methods, and a small minority of teachers has negative influences, but negative effects of social environment during the transition period shouldn't be overlooked as well.To achieve the good effect of ideological and political course's function on undergraduate's political socialization, the course construction of the ideological and political course should be intensified, and it also need to enrich the teaching content, perfect curriculum setting, place emphasis on the practice and strengthen the construction of teaching staff. Meanwhile, it also needs to build a favorable social circumstance, in which the approaches, such as universities, families, mass media can make joint effort to intensify the effect of ideological and political theory course and accelerate the political socialization of the undergraduate.
