With China's participation in WTO, the process of higher education'globalization and popularization is speeding up enormously. The gradual marketization of labor distributing pattern is bound to lead to global competition of talents internally and even wider. As pioneers of the era, contemporary university students are the most potential force surmounting the whole society's"pyramid". They are facing a tremendous leap from theory to practice. Opportunities accompanying challenges are awaiting them. University students possess many excellent qualities such as easily to be modeled, favorably adaptable, creative and initiative. They are bathed in a favorable learning environment and have a strong team-work spirit with less social pressure. Thus an urgent obligation emerges in front of both the educators and those to be educated. On the educators'side, it lies on how to make the contemporary university students study voluntarily; how to build up the individual's sense of competition in both the talents'market and their practical work; how to make them survive successfully in the'battle'of talents. On the side of those to be educated, it is an issue that each individual should think over how to be competitive.From the perspective of how a university student can stand successful in the intense competition of talents, the thesis puts forward a conception of'nuclear competitive power'and makes a further analysis on the structure and features of nuclear competitive power resulting in a creative exploration on how to foster and upraise the nuclear competitive power of university students by referring to various realistic problems encountered in graduation employment involving in various competition. Now it can be concluded that if only university students grasp the feature of nuclear competitive power and keep practicing and studying at university can they open up their own career and stand successful in the intense competition of talents.
