The reform of university organization is a timeless topic of university development. If there was no reform, there would be no development. A university is in constant reform while developing from an ordinary university to an influential and competitive one. The administrators of a university are carrying on various reforms, such as the reform of logistics socialization, the reform of personnel distribution system, the reform of teaching and research organization of grass-roots level, academic reform, teaching content and curriculum reform, cultivating-goal reform, etc. They hope to impel their university to adapt to social development and to make progress through such reforms. However, the reform of university organization has close relation with organization environment and is influenced and controlled by it. Then in what aspects does environment influence the reform of university organization? How to explore the environmental factors in reform? After substantive analysis, this study tries to answer the questions mentioned above.This thesis divides into the following three parts:The first part dwells on that the reform of university organization is a timeless topic of university development. It analyzes and cards the related concepts while focusing on the reform of organization structure of university. With the purpose of illuminating the universality, catholicity and importance of the reform of university organization and ushering in the topic of the relationship between reform of university organization and environment, from the features of university organization, the first part analyzes organic structure of discipline and the developing trend, and organic structure of bureaucracy and its developing trend.The second part analyzes the factors which influence the reform of university organization. Being the main part of the study, it illustrates the environmental factors which influence the reform of university organization from 10 aspects, which include international environment in the background of economic globalization, the environment of the state's policy on politics, economics and high education, historical factors of university environment, factors of cultural environment, factors of social environment, factors of community environment, student-resources of university, the employment market of college students, the competition among universities, and the internal factors of a university. Each factor will bring about some reform of university organization which will meet with some resistance. This makes it important and at the same time difficult to reform university organizations.The third part dwells on how to push forward the reform of university organization from the visual threshold of organization environment. It mainly illustrates the incertitude feature of university organization. There exists incertitude because the organization environment is in constant change and is complicated. The matrix chart of the incertitude of organization environment is analyzed here. The incertitude poses resistance to organization reform and pressure to university organization and staff. Therefore, we put forward three principles and strategies to cope with the incertitude of organization environment, namely the strategy of exploring organization environment on systematic principle, the strategy of dispelling resistance against reform on benefit principle, and the strategy of pressure-relaxation on humanism principle.
