The Study On Development Of The Yugur Population

The article mainly studied on the Yugur population, which is one of the specific minorities in Gansu and one of the 22 ethnics with less population in China. It used China's national population information of the 2000 census as a basis, and combined with China's national population information of the 1990 census, the 1982 census data and related informations in community survey. The article analyzed from four aspects, changes of the number and geographical distribution of Yugur population, patterns and culture of population growth and fertility, dynamic Analysis of the population structure and the quality of the population, consulted with population in the country, the Han Chinese population, and the minority population, then gave an objective description and analysis on the overall situation of the Yugur population. It also objectively evaluated the history and current status of the Yugur population with the population modernization visual angle, and pointed out the bottleneck of development.In addition, it raised some thoughts on development of the Yugur population with the visual angle of ethnic culture, and pointed out strategic choices of development of the Yugur population finally.
