Research Of E-Learning Resource-Sharing Based On Grid

The flourish advance of IT is changing people's styles of life, learning and even thinking. The whole world demands for life-long education to adapt to this knowledge-base economy age which is based on globalization, informatization, intellectualization. Meanwhile, IT provides technology assistance to meet this demand.E-Learning that provides asynchronous education has been becoming an important application on Internet. Internet provides powerful technical support to improve the way of learning resource acquirement and learning collaboration. The learning resource on Internet is much rich in contents and various in forms. But under this resource-distributed circumstance, Internet appears some shortages in fulfilling some needs for lager-scale sharing of dynamic resource, collaboration and personalized study. To solve these problems, this thesis discusses the Grid architecture, the outline use of the Grid in E-learning, the architecture of the E-learning Grid, sharing environment and so on.At first, it analyzes the present situation and development about E-Learning. With the development and wide application of E-Learning technology, we gradually find its restrictions in sharing and interoperating. By grid technology, we can solve the problems. Since Grid technology is more mature, and became the focal point all over the world. In addition, E-Learning is becoming an effective way for educating in enterprises and education organizations. So, how to make use of Grid to improve E-Learning has important significance to education field.Then, the thesis discusses the key technologies for establishing E-learning Grid platform, and sets up the architecture of E-learning Grid. Furthermore, it analyzes the sharing environment and security mechanism based on the above architecture.Because Grid resources are heterogeneous, dynamic and distributed in logic or physical form, how to use and manage learning resources efficiently and achieve lager-scale sharing becomes the vital problem the E-learning Grid should face to. Therefore, it analyses the details in the implementation of learning resources sharing in Grid. From the respect of resource management, it shows the resources' description, organization, discovering and scheduling. Then, from the learners' point of view, it proposes the process view of resource sharing.The main results of this study are summed up at last and the tentative plan and prospect of E-learning Grid are pointed out.
