The history textbooks of two banks and three places all have their own characteristics. The compilation of the mainland textbooks have changed from singularity to diversity and from focusing on the whole body of the subject to being suitable to students' reading and learning habits. The textbooks of Hong Kong emphasize their organizations and take advantage of photos and pictures, strongly branded with memories of the colony times. Those compiled in Taiwan are greatly influenced by the political parties' interests and situations. The history textbooks have become a way to propaganda their political strategies and influence the young generation for them. Even so, they have also changed a lot, from boring to lively and from singularity to diversity. That's where their textbooks are worth borrowing and researching.This essay is made up of four parts:Part I compares mainly compares the 1993 with 2003 version textbooks. And the Westernization Movement is taken as an example.Part II analyzes Hong Kong's history textbooks from the angle of historical data utilization and the question designs. And then several different edition textbooks will be compared.Taiwan history textbooks will be analyzed methodologically and historically in Part 3. And the tendency of Removing Chinese in the textbooks will be focused on.In part 4 the question designs in the chapter about the Westernization Movement in the mainland and Hong Kong textbooks will be compared. Then the comparison between the mainland and Taiwan versions will follow.In the last part the compilation of the Westernization Movement is forecast from the view of sociology, cultural science and cognition psychology. |
