Official corruption is a severe social problem existed in nowadays China, which arouses the focus and highlight of many scholars in the nationwide. Rent-seeking theory and society transformation theory are the important research productions of them. This thesis tries to analysis the official corruption through the perspective of risk sociology, based on the conclusion of relating researches' defects and inadequate. This paper discusses some questions below, using the bibliography research method. What is the problem and fault of the study interested in official corruption? Why do we use the view of risk sociology as our new method? Why can the official corruption be treated as a political risk? What do the social elements cause the political risk? How to resolve this risk? The article includes five parts. The first part is the introduction consisting four parts: discovering the problem, bibliography, theory reference and researching method. This part points out the shortcomings of the early studies: rent-seeking theory and social transformation theory. The former neglects the macro-social structure. The latter rarely refers to the micro-social elements. However, both of them have deep understanding in the phenomenon of official corruption. Unfortunately none of them study the phenomenon based on psychological sociology. The author uses the risk sociology, which has deep study in the three aspects above. The risk sociology has many branches, for example, neo-risk sociology, cultural-risk sociology and institutional risk sociology. At the end of this paper, the author summarizes the advantages and disadvantages when he uses the risk sociology theory. The second part analyses the official corruption through the social risk theory. Risk sociology theory concludes the risk's characteristics as human-oriented, severe bad-result effect and controllable. It summarizes the risk's types as political risk, economy risk, natural risk, and ethic risk etc. The author carefully observes the official corruption's characteristics and defines it as the political risk. The third part tries to conclude the reason of official corruption. The author argues that there are three major reasons: systematic hidden danger, intensive introspective hidden danger, and culture awareness warp. For instance, political power structure lacking of supervising and the traditional social relation structure having ethic abundance are the systematic hidden dangers. The corrupted officials not being sued causing the model effect and "long term payback wishes" phenomenon are intensive introspective hidden dangers. .The fourth part suggests three methods to manage and control the behavior of official corruption through. the idea of multi-governing risk in risk sociology. First, eliminate the structural hidden dangers through the approach of restraint mechanism. Second, clear up intensive introspective hidden dangers by establishing early-warning mechanism. Third, avoid the culture awareness warp through the way of shaping the honest government culture. The fifth part is the conclusion and discussion. This part review the above four parts. Because of at present natural risk and technology risk getting people's attention, the official corruption problem lacks the research view of risk sociology. As an exploring study, the dissertation needs to be improved in the depth and width of the interaction mechanism of the official corruption and other social risks.
