According to educational psychology, affect accounts greatly for foreign language learning efficiency and success. Different attitudes, motivation and personality characteristics have a different effect on the learning outcomes of the learners. People divide affect into two types. One is positive, the other is negative. "Empathy", as a kind of positive affect, has been studied by many scholars. But most of the researches just concern "empathy" used at English class teaching in college. So, it is very necessary to make the applied study on "Empathy" at English class teaching in middle school.In this paper, the author, on the basis of the achievements made by the scholars home and abroad, explored the effects of "Empathy" used at English class teaching in middle school. I attempted to use "understanding of textbook, affect to students, will of controlling negative affect, good teaching behavior and different scene to convey my feelings to the students". In this way, I hope to build different kinds of models about using "Empathy" at English teaching in high school classrooms.This paper includes five parts. Part1 introduces the reason of choosing such a topic. Part2 introduces the main research methods. Part3 is the most important part of this paper. It deals with "five different ways of empathy applied in middle school". By using different ways of empathy in English class teaching, the relationship between students and me has become more and more harmonious. Part4 is the analysis and discussion on the Application of "Empathy". Part5 is the conclusion for the whole.In a word, if the "empathy" can really be penetrated at English Teaching in high school classrooms, it will need continuous attention of my colleagues and the later perfect study is very necessary. That is the realistic problem we have to face by using "empathy" in high school classrooms.
