Management science is based on management practice and it is the scientific and theoretical summary of the experiences of management practice. Meanwhile, because management practice changes, management theories are sure to develop with times and innovate with social development, and it is the case with motivation theories.The thesis focuses mainly on the following:I. The thesis makes a thorough analysis on the current motivation theories. Based on Maslows' Hierarchy of Needs, Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory, Vroom's Expectancy Theory and Adams' Fair Theory, it analyzes the reasons of motivation lack in needs-motivated motivation theory, which appears with the development of human society, the increasing abundance of social material wealth and the continuous increase of spiritual wealth.II. The thesis also introduces a new motivation model—"interests-motivation" which emphasizes the cultivation and motivation of human interest. It discusses the characteristics of IM motivation theory by using the method of comparative analysis and at the same time it focuses on the organizational applicability of IM motivation theory.III. By doing questionnaires among 229 teachers in universities, the thesis has collected specific and reliable statistics concerning different influences of motivation factors on different teachers and different influences of interest on different teachers. By using statistical analysis and quantitative analysis, the thesis studies the factors affecting the improvement of academic leaders in universities and the motivation function of Management science is based on management practice and it is the scientific and theoretical summary of the experiences of management practice. Meanwhile, because management practice changes, management theories are sure to develop with times and innovate with social development, and it is the case with motivation theories.
