It is requested that knowledge should be conversed to productivity in the era of the knowledge-based economy. The practical human resource is welcomed. As the principal constitution of intelligentsia, college student's competition is more and more embodied in the ability of resolving actual problem (namely Practical intelligence), rather than the academic record. As the important part of practical intelligence, tacit knowledge is the most important resource to get superiority in competition. In the industrial and organizational psychology, tacit knowledge is taken as a new structure to validly evaluate individual work performance, and it's also the key factor of individual success. It is not only an important project in educational reform to improve practical ability of college students, which is also an inevitable request for human resource in background of globalization and the only way to increase the performance in our country economy construction. As the deputy of practice intelligence, tacit knowledge takes an important role.This research takes college student cadres who are from several domestic universities as subjects and compiles an inventory on tacit knowledge of them, and then uses the inventory to measure their practical intelligence, and the relation between demographic variables and practice intelligence, the relationship between achievement motivation and practice intelligence are analyzed comprehensively thoroughly.The inventory is developed strictly according to the development procedure of tacit knowledge inventory that has ideal validity and reliability demontrated by statistical analysis.The CFA is used to confirm the structure of tacit knowledge of college students.The ANOVA shows that practical intelligence of college students has no significant relationship with length of service; and the correlation analysis shows that the PI of college students has no relationship with academic records or level, and that it significantly correlates with level of honor.The correlation analysis shows that there is no significant relationship between the achievement motivation and PI.The achievement of this research will be the theoretical basement for both the development of the human resource assessment instrument based on TK and training on practical intelligence for college students.
