21st century is an era of knowledge economy, which requires compound talents of all around development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor education. We should fully carry on the quality-oriented education in order to cultivate this kind of talented people. As an important constituent part of the quality-oriented education, the aesthetic education can bring up people's aesthetic interest, improve people's aesthetic ability and promote the development of other aspects. If we intend to implement the aesthetic education systematically, the most direct method is to integrate it into the subject teaching. Geography teaching is an indispensable component of the subject teaching and its objects, content, forms and circumstances and other factors contain most ample aesthetic factors. Therefore, it is imperative to implement the aesthetic education in geography teaching. According to the meanings of the aesthetic education and the understandings of the other disciplines, the aesthetic education in geography classroom teaching, on the basis of geography knowledge and aesthetics knowledge, enables the students to adequately experience and enjoy the beauty of geography objects, geography science and geography teaching, to come in for the edification of the beauty, to raise own aesthetic diathesis, to nurture distingue sentiment, to figure right personality and to achieve roundly harmonious development by digging the aesthetic factors of geography teaching materials and geography things themselves.According to geography curriculum standard, the main goals of the aesthetic education in geography classroom teaching are as follows: to let the students establish correct aesthetic view in the course of geography studying, to enhance their aesthetic interest, to strengthen their awareness of environmental protection, to elementarily form the conception of the sustainable development and to improve the students' ability of experiencing, appreciating and creating the beauty step by step.In order to achieve these goals, the ways to conduct the aesthetic education in geography classroom teaching are as follows: to grasp the students' whole aesthetic psychological process, to dig geography aesthetic materials, to make use of various methods to present the aesthetic objects, to maneuver the students' correlative aesthetic memory, to inspire their aesthetic association and imagination, to raise their aesthetic sensation and to advance their ability of the aesthetic evaluation gradually. Furthermore, in accordance with different content of the geography curriculum, we should use different teaching methods and enumerate different teaching cases.For the purpose of implementing the aesthetic education in geography classroom teaching more effectively, every teacher should erect strong aesthetic conception, cultivate abundant aesthetic sensation, predominate interrelated aesthetics and aestheticpedagogy knowledge , enrich the aesthetic experience , improve the operational capacity of the aesthetic education in geography teaching and carry on different aesthetic education to different students by observing the students' behavior and conjecturing their aesthetic psychological structure.In addition, we also should pay sufficient attention to the problems in the teaching, such as teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and different teaching cortent, the balance of the aesthetic education and geography classroom teaching as well as the continuity and duration of the aesthetic education. The purpose of doing that is to avoid the misunderstanding for aesthetic education, diverging from the geography curriculum standard and the discontinuity of aesthetic education caused by the idea of succeeding rapidly and so on, and consequently to realize the real aim of implementing the aesthetic education in the geography classroom teaching.
