In this study, 16 provincial class male heavyweight rowing athletes(8 elite athletes and 8 ordinary athletes) performed individual anaerobic threshold (IAT) and maximal lactate steady state (MLSS) tests with Conceptâ…¡rowing ergometer . Then, the athletes were divided into two groups, one of that included 4 elite athletes and 4 ordinary athletes. With Conceptâ…¡rowing ergometer, one group trained at P-IAT and the other trained at P-MLSS. The training last for 9 weeks and 4 times a week. After the training, the aerobic capacities were examined. The results were:1. In rowing IAT workload did not represent MLSS workload.2. After different lactate threshold intensities training for 9 weeks, all athletes made significant progress in aerobic capacities.3. We should choose the upper limit intensities within valid training intensities for elite athletes, however, the ordinary athletes had better train at medium intensities within valid training intensities.
