With the initiation of the curriculum reform in fundamental education, teachers of English as a foreign language in China are facing a new request. Traditional teaching ideas and methods cannot satisfy educational demands. Under this circumstance, "reflective teaching" provides an alternative approach to current foreign language teaching. Reflective teaching is a reflective process for developing teachers'expertise in problem solving, decision-making, and complex thinking. The knowledge we gain through reflection can play a vital role in the development of our professional practice.The reflective teaching model has experienced a quick development in recent years. As a foreign language teaching approach, it may enhance teaching effect and promote teachers self-improvement. This paper is aimed to introduce this method into English listening teaching in junior school and put forward some suggestions on the concrete strategy in the practical use.This research contains five parts, which include questionnaires for teachers and students, theories of reflective teaching, action research, analysis and discussion, and conclusion. The author tries to describe the change process during, before and after the class on the observation of English listening class, to explain the role of reflection in the teaching process, and to demonstrate a particular strategy to accelerate and enhance teachers' overall quality. |
