The Thoughts On Curriculum Reform Of Cultural Basic Course Of Liberal Arts In Vocational School

This paper is set in the curriculum reform of vocational school. It reveals the necessity of further reform in cultural basic course of liberal arts under the new situation nowadays by analyzing its historical evolution. And then it analyzes the general and special value of cultural basic course and identifies the function and object of cultural basic course. It suggests a course plan named "module + platform + module" by investigating and analyzing the main problem existing in present cultural basic course of liberal arts in vocational schools. It also presents the concrete plan on how to execute and evaluate it.This paper consists of four chapters. Chapter one is introduction, it introduces the background of the issue and the present research on cultural basic course of liberal arts in vocational school and it defines some relevant concepts. In chapter two it takes the cultural basic course arrangement in Wuxi Industrious School in the 1980s, in the 1990s and in the early 2000s for examples to analyze the historical evolution of curriculum reform and the curriculum values, the course arrangement of foreign vocational school and its enlightenment to our curriculum reform. This chapter also illustrates the general and special value of cultural basic course. Chapter three discusses the main problems existing in cultural basic course of liberal arts in vocational school by means of sampling investigation to teachers, students and some companies that accept graduates from vocational school. And it analyzes its main cause from three aspects-school, teacher and administrator, which aims at solving the problem. The fourth chapter suggests the course plan "module + platform + module" with regard to reform of the cultural basic course. It discusses the development, execution and evaluation of the course plan. This paper finally analyzes the difficulty that may be met with when it is put into practice.
