The first year of Senior high school is the transition point that connects junior high school and senior high school and is definitely important to students. From the view of academic environment, Grade One students need to set their new study objects, new study plans and establish new interpersonal relationships and meet new academic requirements. From the view of student's psychic, the three years of senior high school is an important period, during which students' cognitive competence develop rapidly, ego consciousness increases, and personality comes to complete. From the view of mechanics teaching, mechanics is the foundation of the physics course of senior high school and keep appearing in the whole teaching process in the first year as well. However, the depth and width of mechanics in senior high school is apparently different from the mechanics course in junior high school. Grade One students are faced with various difficulties when studying physics. Therefore, this article explores the Grade One students with difficulties in studying physics in senior high school. The whole article falls into the following three parts.Part One, on the basis of literature search, defines Grade One students with difficulties in studying physics. They are the students who have normal intelligence and normal senses, but their performance in physics apparently doesn't match teacher's expectation, considering their intelligence potential.Part Two classifies the students with difficulties into three categories after taking their physics performance both in junior and senior school into account: (1) the students who did well in junior high school, but only achieve average performance in senior high school; (2) the students who do well in physics in class, but their examination performance apparently doesn't match their actual achievement in physics; (3) the students who have no interest in physics and fall behind most classmates in physics study. Then, according to the general characteristics of Grade One students with difficulties in studying physics, this part classifies each group of students into sub-categories in three aspects: intelligence factors, non-intelligent factors and strategy factors. So, the students with difficulties can be grouped as emotion-type students, Comprehension-type students, constancy-type students, motivity-type students, ability-type students and integrated-type students. In addition, a diagnosis of certain individual students has been done in this part.
