| Because of the reform and opening-up, the scale of English teaching in our country has been expanding. Although English teaching has made great achievements ,there are still phenomena in the high school English teaching for a long time which only takes cognition seriously but neglect the affect .For example , in order to meet examination ,teachers make students do simulation test paper mechanically, without considering students'interest and need; as a result , many a student is tired of learning , and their achievements are polarization.In the contemporary society which stresses quality education and initiates life-long learning, it becomes more important that teachers should make the best of emotional elements in classroom English teaching with the purpose of humanism and respect to creat a pleasant atmosphere ,to arouse students'interest in language learning and to advance students'cognition strategy.Much study about the application of emotional elements to language teaching focuses on two factors : one is individual factors including anxiety ,inhibition , extroversion—introversion and motivation etc; the other one is relational factors including empathy,classroom transactions and cross-cultural processes etc.This paper combining the language teaching principles about affect with the study of high school students'English learning situation and their psychological characteristics , has made analyses of how to better apply emotional factors to English teaching activities .The results of the experiments carried out in the paper show that the proper application of emotional factors has effectively improved teaching results and quality .In the equal ,democratic and harmonious learning atmosphere ,students are more initiative to learn ,meanwhile their anxiety in language learning is eliminated ,leading to their cognition strategy improving . |
