With the implementation of The Fine Arts Curriculum Standards, in the process that the new fine arts textbooks are being edited, the traditional concepts that focus on materials, class, and teachers have been practically changed. The completely new ideas of "Learning how to learn, how to survive, how to cooperate" have been established. School fine arts education has developed into an unprecedented stage, which, in turn, brings both new opportunities and challenges to fine arts education and teaching in primary schools in rural areas.Currently, the process of the fine arts curriculum reform is tardy in rural primary schools. Due to the shortage of resources, backwardness of teaching conditions and isolation from modern information in rural areas, the advantages of the new fine arts textbooks are not fully taken, which indicates that the new textbooks are not quite applicable to the fine arts teaching in rural primary schools. The study examines the applicability of the new fine arts textbooks in rural primary schools. And it is based on the teaching cases that the fine arts textbooks (1-4), the experimental textbooks of compulsory education, published by People's Fine Arts Publishing House, are applied to the lower grades of rural primary schools in Longnan. The study analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the new fine arts textbooks (PFAPH) applied to the lower grades of rural primary schools. By summing up experience, looking for disparities, strengthening the advantages and eliminating disadvantages, it attempts to fully develop the resources of education and teaching, and provide practical materials and data for the further improvement of fine arts textbooks. In the process of the research, after carefully listens to the feedbacks from the fine arts teachers in rural primary schools, the author finds out the current fine arts textbooks' inapplicability to the fine arts teaching in rural primary schools. Based on his study, the author comes up with a number of countermeasures to optimize teaching resources, develop school-based curricula, adjust the structure of learning fields and integrate teaching contents, in order to make the new fine arts textbooks more applicable to the teaching activities in rural primary schools.
