The general reform trend of the College Entrance Examination now focuses mainly on student's ability instead of merely on their master of knowledge. All the questions appearing in the physical test call for students to build an appropriate physical model according to the topic information and then solve the problems by using the law that the physical model abides by. In the teaching practice, a lot of students are often at loss when they meet with some physical questions that are in relation to the real life activities. The reason is that they cannot build an ideal physical model according to the actual physical questions. In order to effectively improve such situation, the physical model teaching is brought out and discussed in this thesis. This thesis is composed of three chapters. Chapter One mainly makes a theoretical exploration and summary to the physical model and the physical model teaching, and discusses the general concepts, classification, main characteristics, function and thinking analysis about the physical model. The theoretical basis to the physical model teaching has been determined in the aspects of cognition and problem solution from pedagogy and psychology. Chapter Two sets the physical model teaching goal and its principle by combining years of teaching experience in High School and the thinking characteristics of High School students. It deals with the present situation of how High School students can grasp the physical model by using questionnaire survey and the like. The research experiment is carefully designed after making clear the main problems that High School students have to meet with in building and applying the physical model. The experiment about the physical model teaching has been successfully carried out in the practical physics class teaching, which is clearly explained from six aspects. Chapter Three is the conclusion in which the physical model teaching is summarized and evaluated.
