In late 1990s, Hip-Hop stormed China with the idolized group in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The arrival made generation 80s gone crazy and became loyal adherents. The boundless vitality and appeal of Hip-Hop influenced on the style of living and thinking of an entail generation. Hip-Hop derived from the American slums in 1970s, and once was considered as the ephemeral. How did this pattern of non-mainstream music renascence and surged through the world? And how does it generate the culture with the respect of hundreds and thousands of adolescent? This paper will start with the discussion of origin of Hip-Hop cultural, as well as the components, the property included and the spread conditions facilitating the development. Then it will explore the correspondence between Hip-Hop and contemporary youth subculture. The paper will expound the status of Hip-Hop culture in China, the image and character of audience, and consequently find the cause of being so popular of Hip-Hop.
