The Research On The Current Situation Of Tae Kwon Do Game In Xinjiang And Its Development Countermeasure

The Athletic sport reflects the overall national capacity and the degree of social civilization in a region or country and also plays a critical role in developing sports. It also serves as a key factor in promoting the image of a country, showing the outlook of a city and carrying forward the national spirit. Compared with the other provinces in China, Xinjiang still lags behind in athletic level, so importance should be attached to enhancing the level of athletic sports in order to develop the sports in Xinjiang. Meanwhile, against the current capacity of athletic sports in Xinjiang, efforts should be made to explore the sports items capable of rapid development conforming to the conditions in Xinjiang. As a modern athletic sport item, Tae Kwon Do entered into Olympic Games three times in 1988, 1992, and 1996 as an exhibition item. In Sidney Olympics held in 2000, it was officially categorized into athletic event and entitled to 8 gold medals. In China, Tae Kwon Do was first carried out in 1992, and in 1994, Tae Kwon Do team was founded in all provinces of China. Within the short period of several years after that, China won the gold medals both in Sidney Olympics and Athens Olympics, Which rendered the rapid development of Tae Kwon Do game in our country.Tae Kwon Do game has been developing very fast in Xinjiang and has spread in sixteen regions and cities since 1994 when it was first carried out in Xinjiang. In the past three years in particular, it has displayed a booming tendency. Even so, Xinjiang still lagged behind other provinces in the athletic level of Tae Kwon Do in spite of the fact that it was carried out at the same time with other provinces. With the investigation of the current development of Tae Kwon Do in Xinjiang and the analysis of the main factors hindering the development of the athletic level of Tae Kwon Do game in Xinjiang, this paper exposes the problems in the development of the athletic level of Tae Kwon Do game in Xinjiang and provides some proposals and countermeasures to solve the problems and promote the athletic level of Tae Kwon Do game in Xinjiang.By investigating the current popularization of Tae Kwon Do in 16 regions and cities and analyzing the results of Tae Kwon Do games in 13 important Tae Kwon Do regions, the paper arrives at the conclusions as follows: 1.
