As we have entered the 21st century, there is a growing sense of urgency that we need to increase our understanding of people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. From interpersonal misunderstandings to intercultural conflicts, frictions exist within and between cultures.This paper discusses the necessity and importance of the culture permeating in a middle school English class. The author did a questionnaire and according to the questionnaire she analyzed the present situation of the middle school students' intercultural awareness and communication competence. At the same time the author experimented for a whole term on her own students on permeating cultural differences through practice and got an ideal result.The dissertation discusses the problems of cultural differences and culture teaching in middle school. It consists of five chapters. Chapter I serves as an introduction stating the importance of international culture teaching, status investigation of culture teaching and the direct reasons of writing this dissertation. Chapter II states the concept of culture, as well as the relationship between language and culture. In this chapter the writer listed some culture differences between English and Chinese. Chapter III, research part. From this chapter the readers could know the research questions and the methodologies, objects, process and the effect of the research. In Chapter IV, the writer states and analyzes the data and gives the result. Chapter V is the conclusion, reinforcing culture teaching should be integrated with language teaching.
