Presently, accompanied by the restructuring and expansion of higher education, the increasing number of impoverished college students has become the focal point and the hot spot of social concern. The impoverished college student also therefore moves towards the center from the research sight edge, and becomes an item not to be possible to avoid but also quite significant research topic.This article has first analyzed the appearing background, the present situation as well as the academic progress of the study on the impoverished students, thus establishing the direction and focus of this research. And according to the welfare economic school of thought Amartya Sen's impoverished theory, the research clarifies doubts and defines the research subject. That the article treats the impoverished students as the vulnerable group in economy provides a broad and flexible space for the study.Second, this article introduces and combs Pierre Bourdien's yard territory theory. On this basis and in view of this research subject, a theoretical model is constructed to analyze the college student community's interior difference. This theoretical model establishes the mentality and the frame for the research development.Finally, combining survey data with the theoretical model, the research is conducted from two angles to the impoverished college student's survival circumstances: First, the overall student perspective; Second, impoverished college students compared with non- impoverished. From the overall perspective, this article researches different student's position relations and the capital assignment structure of the yard which reveals the differences between impoverished and non-impoverished students and these difference's relationship. From the second angle, this article thoroughly discusses the different orientations both in survival mentality and in the field practice. After that this article promulgates the root of differences between impoverished and non-impoverished students.The main conclusions of the article are as follows: First, the capital assignment structure of the yard territory is that student's academic capital accumulation will be subject to its economic impact in stead of cultural capital, and the student's social capital accumulation will be effected by cultural capital and the authority capital, not by economic...
