Asynchronous Collaborative Learning Forums (ACLF) is an important communication style in online-learning community. Asynchronous interaction has two distinct features. First, asynchronous communication affords students study flexibly regardless of time and place; Second, BBS communication makes for organizing thoughts and language. Also, it cost less and it has low technology required, so BBS is online-learner's favorite communication style .Asynchronous communication can increase the learner's study enthusiasm, eliminate the learners' loneliness feelings and improve learner's contentment feelings. This thesis use qualitative analysis method to analyze the communication records and summarize factors that affect the learner's knowledge construction, then developed a good-designed BBS model.Making use of case study model of Yin, the author follow two course bulletin boards of two online universities , code the data based on constructed model. The author mainly take use of content analysis to analyze the two bulletin boards separately and then synthetically. The main findings of the thesis are as follows:1. Summarize and analysis the study methods on asynchronous communication at home and abroad, constructed a code analysis model.2. Demonstrate students made obvious progress on cognition in asynchronous text-based communication.3. There are four important factors that affect learner's knowledge construction, including evaluate rubric, feedback, question and course task.4. There are four distinct interaction modes induced from the course bulletin board.5. On the basis of those findings, the author believe that online leaning should give more attention to some problems and make suggestions for using asynchronous communication in online learning.
