Two world wars had created the huge destruction to the humanity. It caused people ideal being disillusioned. When the war ended, humanity's belief ignites again in those people, who hope to realize peace in peoples mind through education. Therefore, at the first session of the UNSCO in 1945,the concept, that education promotes international understanding, can be established. The concept has 50 yeas history from established to present. In these 50 years, the UNESCO and his member states has made the unremitting endeavor for the development of education for international understanding. Nowadays education for international understanding has been one of the world's education reform concepts. Therefore, the writer thinks it is necessary to conduct the more systematic research to education for international understanding. The first part of the article, introducing the other scholars' researches, and introducing the writer's research purpose and meaning . The second part of the article, it is about the concept of education for international understanding, it enables everybody to systematically comprehend education for international understanding; The third part, introducing background and development course of education for international understanding; The forth part, from the perspective of theoretical research, the article has analyzed the education for international understanding's philosophy foundation and the ethical ecology foundation; The fifth part, from the perspective of practical research, the article uses the comparison to analyze the common experience in the education for international understanding's practice and its existence question. The writer proposes his own opinions. The sixth part, the article summarized the writer's view about some questions, which exists in the education for international understanding.
