It is well-known that all levels of administration in our country, from the center government to the local government, have tried their best to solve the serious problem of "being difficult for college students to find a job". Once students leave school, their employment has to be left to our society, which always has no proper ways to solve it; and sometimes our society has to take a defensive stopgap measure. Therefore, many universities, including Beijing University, Fudan University, etc, have offered "Career Education" to college students, in which students will be given instructions to choose future occupation. Some of them even advocate the proposals such as, "first working, then choosing occupation" or "working without payment", hoping that in this way, the severe problem could be solved. In this thesis-writer's opinion, those measures can't solve the problem of employment completely. When a student enters college for a certain major, does he have any chance to change his future occupation nothing to do with his major? If even he can, is it a big waste? Therefore, the writer believes that students should receive "career education" when he starts his education and that school education must be combined with practice throughout elementary school and secondary school. Students in this way will study more actively, more independently and more creatively and will put what they have learned into practice. They will adjust their dreams constantly, experience the difference between their dreams and practice and try to find out new directions. So, when they have to make their decision to be a science major or arts major in their senior high school, they will not be at a loss. They will work hard at their studies to achieve their ambitions. After they are admitted into university, what they will study is tightly connected with social practice. Hence they will be well prepared for their future occupation. Will it be hard for them to find a job after such a complete course of "career education" when they graduate from college?Maybe you will think that the writer of this thesis is too naive and ideal. But in many developed countries such as America, Germany, Japan, their children have been educated in this way. The percentage of American youth who have a higher education is over 70%, while 10% in China by the end of the 20th century. How can we say "Chinese college students are too many"? The American employment channels aren't endowed with God, but come as a result of the career education, employment education and the combination of study and social practice. In order to fully develop "quality education" as we call it now, we should carry out the career education at the elementary stage of education. We must make efforts not only to reform the student evaluation system but get rid of the present "education based on testing" as well. The elementary and secondary schools should deepen bilingual education to cultivate students with all-sided ability, to offer more employment channels to meet the tendency of globalization.
