With the extensive and thorough development of the Mathematical Olympic activities, the Olympic mathematics and the education on it have also initiated various questions and disputes. Under this situation, with solving and setting questions on Olympic Mathematics in Junior Middle School as its research objectives, this article attempts to study and probe on the methodology and techniques involved in it.This article embarks from competition mathematics as well as the content and current situation of its education, initially drawing an overall outline on the further development of competition mathematics, by making use of its nature and functions. Mini-sized statistics have been engaged on the National Mathematic League Match for Junior Middle School students all the years along and all kinds of junior middle school mathematics competition tests in 2003. Based on this foundation, this paper emphasizes on probing the common methodology and techniques of solving the questions for fundamental junior middle school Olympic mathematics.Meanwhile, more and more people pay great attention on the research of the Olympic mathematics proposition. Since setting and solving questions are fundamental modes of the Olympics mathematics, and proposition being a key element, thus a study on this is extremely important. This article has made a preliminary study on the methodology and techniques of the Olympics mathematics proposition. Finally, a set of competition simulating tests has been proposed based on the author's summary of the methodology and techniques.
