US took in world one of higher education most developed countries, takes the lead to enter the mass-access time, afterwards experiences the young person of the right age to enter a school the population to grow with steady steps, the scale adjustment, slowly drops and enters present the steady development post-mass-access stage. In this process, as the main body of the elite education, American research university, again takes the superiority which is in sole possession of by it innovates its undergraduate course. Most noticeable thing of this time nothing better than the general education tradition to continue, reform, innovate and develop. This article discusses the development of the general education's vein of US research university , according to educational ecology, see how carefully it is adapts own logic to realize with in the external environment interaction leaps unceasingly, certainly the question also is a key point which we pays attention. But foothold then lies in to the Chinese higher education localization reforms has the intravenous drip enlightenment.This article altogether divides into five parts:First part : Combs the general education's development course of American research university, taking advantage of ancient text of the analects now, foreshadows for the second part.Second part : The American research university passes in post-mass-access stage its innovation's superiority of the general education analysis.
