Absent Participation

With the development of democratic politics around the world, our country as well as accelerates the development speed of democratic politics. The superiorities of socialism will be demonstrated very well with the achievement of democratization of politics. Modern democratic politics is characterized by the citizen participation in the public event and public policy. This research concentrates on current development status of democratic politics of our country from the perspective of citizen participation. The research of Yumen case suggests that in China the system of citizen participation is still far away being perfect. Much work needed to do to achieve the democratization of politics in China.During the process of Yumen being moved, both the government and the management bureau of Yumen Oil Company did not pay any attention to the public opinion, and did not carry out social mobilization. It is demonstrated in the research of Yumen case that the degree of citizen participation is still in a low level. As the supporting industry of Yumen region, the management bureau of Yumen Oil Company did not show its relatively social responsibility. Yumen move radically damaged the interests of common people of Yumen, and overthrew the normal lifestyle of common people of Yumen. At current time, people of Yumen city hold a pessimistic attitude to the future development of Yumen city. At the same time, Yumen move also has negative influence on the exterior figure and the future development of Yumen city.
